The album “La Vie En Route” was released in 2023. It is a kind of memory lane at the past and a wink in the present. Alex plays two pieces by his childhood idol Leo Kottke on this album. The beautiful "Arms of Mary" and "Little Martha". Alex had never recorded anything by Leo Kottke before.

Of course there are also new compositions on it. From the sensitive song (and also the main title of the album) La Vie En Route to a self-composed ragtime piece "Don't shoot the piano player". Also a very nice composition that he wrote for his dog Quinty... is on the album, you can see the dog jumping... The Beatles are also well represented with two own arrangements by Alex van Voorst. The beautiful Yesterday and the up tempo song Get Back.
